Ruthie's Inspirations

 I have been reading my Bible in the book of Exodus for the last few days. As I was reading a couple days ago, an interesting thought came to me. I had just finished reading about all the plagues God had put on Egypt because Pharaoh would not let God's people go. I thought to myself, wow, it sure took a lot of persuasion to change Pharaoh's mind before he let Israel go. At the first visit, and after God removed each plague, he hardened his heart. After going through the plagues of all their water turned to blood, frogs, and flies, Pharaoh agrees to let them go and sacrifice but only in the land of Egypt. But Moses told Pharaoh that, that's not what God wanted and after the flies were gone, he hardened his heart and wouldn't let God's people go. After going through three more plagues, all the animals dying, the boils, and dangerous hail and fire along the ground, Pharaoh tells Moses if he asks God to get rid of the hail, he will let the people go.  I thought sharing my testimony would be a good way to start things off! I made a profession of faith when I was 5. The years passed by, and I had doubts here and there like most people do. But I just reminded myself of my profession of faith and kinda shrugged it off. I can't remember if there was a certain message that made me think about whether or not I was saved, but one message stood out to me. I believe it was an evangelist that was preaching and he asked the question: If you stood before a judge for being a Christian, would there be enough evidence to convict you? Honestly, I didn't think there was. Not only that, I struggled a lot with jealousy, envy and bitterness for a few people. I struggled with my salvation a little longer. Then me and I believe my siblings sand the song Is Your All On The Altar for church. The phrase: You can only be blessed, and have peace and sweet rest, if your all on the altar is laid.
