The Picture Of Fall

The Picture of Fall by Ruth Navis

Have you ever thought about the colors that we see in fall?
While radiant and beautiful, we oft fail to recall:
A colored leaf is dead and soon will fall from off the tree,
A picture of the Lord above who died on Calvary.

When winter comes the tree is bare, exposed to winter snow.
The leaf is gone and faded, oh how God loves me so!
His Father turned His back on Him and left Him all alone,
and when He died they laid Him in a new tomb made of stone.

When spring is here the new leaves grow all bright and crisp and green,
to symbolize new life when Jesus rose day number three.

So as a leaf must die, to see it's full beauty,
So, beautiful and crucial was Christ's death on Calvary.
