2. Follow God's Commandments

Genesis 4-7

Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he.   Genesis 6:22

Noah did every last thing that God told him to do. No matter how silly or whether or not God told him why.  Do we have an unquestioning obedience when it comes to what God has given us to do? Can it be said of us like it was said of Noah that we have done everything that God has commanded us?

209. Be Still And Know That He Is God

2 Kings 19, Psalm 46,80,135 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.   Psalm 46:10 Are you stressed or in a hurry to see God work in the world around you? Do you get frustrated with the wickedness that goes on seemingly without punishment or without God noticing? Do you tell God what He should do and when? God will accomplish His will, in His time. You need to be patient and focus on what it is God wants you to do in your own life instead of trying to fix the world around you. This verse says to be still and to know that He is God. If you don't acknowledge that God is the God in your life and take the time to be still and get to know Him, how can you tell others about Him? How can you share about someone that you don't know? How can you convince others to surrender their life in salvation to someone you won't submit to in obedience? It is when you focus on your own life and walk with God that He can be best e...

73. It’s Not About You

Deuteronomy 8-10 Speak not thou in thine heart, after that the LORD thy God hath cast them out from before thee, saying, For my righteousness the LORD hath brought me in to possess this land: but for the wickedness of these nations the LORD doth drive them out from before thee.      Not for thy righteousness, or for the uprightness of thine hear, dost thou go to possess their land: but for the wickedness of these nations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee, and that he may perform the word which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.    Deuteronomy 9:4-5 God knew the tendencies and pride of the children of Israel, just as He knows the tendencies and pride of us today. The common denominator? We're all human. We would like to think we get special treatment for one reason or another. Especially if we feel like we've been extra good...especially compared to someone else. But God doesn't compare us with other people. I...

314. Jesus Prays For You

Luke 22, John 13 And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:   But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.   Luke 22:31-32 As with Peter, so Satan desires to distract and destroy you so that you will be useless for God and eventually deny Him. The temptation is sometimes very great to deny Christ in order to avoid mocking or ridicule, or persecution of any kind. Or just not to be thought of as weird or strange. But, just as Jesus prayed for Peter, so also He prays for us. In John chapter seventeen is one of the prayers that Jesus prayed for His disciples and the people then, but also for all who trust Him as Savior. Though you may fight against principalities and powers and the temptation to give in and walk away may at times be great, you have Jesus who is praying for you and has made a way to escape so that you can bear it and come through ...
