9. In Times When God Can’t Be Found, He Still Knows Where You Are

Job 21-23

Behold, I go forward, but he is not there; and backward, but I cannot perceive him: On the left hand, where he doth work, but I cannot behold him: he hideth himself on the right hand, that I cannot see him: But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold. Job 23:8-10

In times of trial, it’s easy to feel alone. It can be easy to think that God doesn’t know what you’re going through when you don’t always understand yourself. Job felt the same way during the testing that God was allowing in his life. The one thing Job knew though, was that, no matter how much he tried and failed to find God, God knew exactly where Job was and where he was heading. And that when God was done testing Job, Job would be more refined and better off than he was before. He trusted God, not his feelings. If God allows some trial or test in your life, will you complain and wish it done? Or will you choose to trust God and anticipate a better end?
