70. Where God Guides, He Provides

Deuteronomy 1-2

Behold, the LORD thy God hath set the land before thee: go up and possess it, as the LORD God of thy fathers hath said unto thee; fear not, neither be discouraged.     The LORD your God which goeth before you, he shall fight for you, according to all that he did for you in Egypt before your eyes;   Deuteronomy 1:21, 30

Over and over again in these two chapters, God tells the children of Israel that He has prepared the people and the land that they're in for them to possess. Not only that, but here Moses says that God goes before them and will fight for them too! How many times does God prepare the way for us to do something but it seems so impossible or scary that we forget that God is on our side. Where He calls us and what He gives us to do, He will be right there with us and He will provide everything that we need to accomplish the task at hand! If God gives you something big to do, will you do it? Will you trust Him to provide the skills or the tools or even the grace to do what He has asked you to do? If you are certain of God's will for you, will you take a leap of faith and trust Him for the rest?

Deuteronomy 5-7 O that there were such an hear in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, and it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!    Deuteronomy 5:29 And the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day.    Deuteronomy 6:24 God made it clear, and the children of Israel understood that all the commandments that God had given them were for their good and because God loved them. When there are things that God convicts you of, or rules applicable to you from His word, what is your response? Do you understand that He loves you and wants only the best for you? Or do you choose to think He doesn't know what He's doing and wants to keep you from having fun or enjoying life?
