77. Help A Brother Out

Deuteronomy 21-23

Thou shalt not see thy brother's ox or his sheep go astray, and hide thyself from them: thou shalt in any case bring them again unto thy brother.     And if thy brother be not nigh unto thee, or if thou know him not, then thou shalt bring it unto thine own house, and it shall be with thee until thy brother seek after it, and thou shalt restore it to him again.     In like manner shalt thou do with his ass; and so shalt thou do with his raiment; and with all lost thing of thy brother's, which he hath lost, and thou hast found, shalt thou do likewise: thou mayest not hide thyself.     Thou shalt not see thy brother's ass or his ox fall down by the way, and hide thyself from them: thou shalt surely help him to lift them up again.   Deuteronomy 22:1-4

We are supposed to help our brethren out any way we can whether we know them or not. The New Testament says that one of the ways that people know we love God is by how we love and care for our brothers and sisters in Christ. If they lose something, we should help them find it. If they're in trouble we should go and help them if we can. If we see them or their possessions in trouble, we need to lend a hand instead of turning a blind eye. Are you willing to do anything for your brothers and sisters in Christ? Do you allow bad feelings to get in the way of your relationship with them? Do you ignore them and the problems they may be having out of spite or pettiness? You should be willing to help out any way you can, no matter what! You need to love the brethren like Christ does!
