79. Disobedience Is Cursed

Deuteronomy 28-29

Moreover all these curses shall come upon thee, and shall pursue thee, and overtake thee, till thou be destroyed; because thou hearkenedst not unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which he commanded thee:         Deuteronomy 28:45

Just as there are blessings for obedience, there is also curses for disobedience. When talking to the children of Israel, God takes up the majority of chapter twenty eight telling them the curses that will come upon them for being disobedient. Disobedience is not neutral while obedience is blessed. Even now disobedience has consequences. There are so many things that you are not to do or things you are to stay away from. Do you use laziness or some other excuse to try and worm your way out of obeying what you know God has asked you to do? You would be wise to remember that your disobedience will have consequences and to choose to follow God and live a life full of His blessings!
