83. You Can’t Hide From God

Joshua 5-8

Israel hath sinned, and they have also transgressed my covenant which I commanded them: for they have even taken of the accursed thing, and have also stolen, and dissembled also, and they have put it even among their own stuff.   Joshua 7:11

When the children of Israel destroyed Jericho they were commanded to destroy everything and everyone in it except Rahab and her family, and certain things they were supposed to take for the tabernacle. When Achin thought no one was looking, he took a bar of gold and a Babylonian garment. One thing he forgot was, although you can hide things from those around you, you can never hide anything from God. He's always watching and He knows if you've done something you shouldn't. Do you try and get away with things thinking that you won't get caught because no one is around? Do you think about the fact that God is always with you and He sees everything you do? You need to have integrity because even if no one else catches you, God knows and there will be consequences. Do you keep God in mind in everything you do? Do you allow the Holy Spirit to guide you and to tell you what and what not to do and then follow His leading?

72. God Does All Things For Our Good

Deuteronomy 5-7 O that there were such an hear in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, and it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!    Deuteronomy 5:29 And the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day.    Deuteronomy 6:24 God made it clear, and the children of Israel understood that all the commandments that God had given them were for their good and because God loved them. When there are things that God convicts you of, or rules applicable to you from His word, what is your response? Do you understand that He loves you and wants only the best for you? Or do you choose to think He doesn't know what He's doing and wants to keep you from having fun or enjoying life?
