100. Two Wrongs Don’t Make A Right
1 Samuel 9-12
Moreover as for me, God forbid that I should sin against
the LORD in ceasing to pray for you: but I will teach you the good and the
right way: Only fear the LORD, and
serve him in truth with all your heart: for consider how great things he hath
done for you. 1 Samuel 12:23-24
Israel had sinned by asking for a king, but regardless, Samuel chose to keep his focus on the Lord and to do what's right despite what those around him were doing. He did however encourage them to do what's right and to serve God with all of their heart and their motivation was to be out of love and awe of the great things that God had done for them! Your life should be the same. To always do what's right even if others choose not to and to fear the Lord and serve Him with all your heart because He's done great things for you, not because you have to. When your focus is on the Lord, He helps you to do what's right and to follow Him, whether or not others choose to do the same. Will you have the character of Samuel and take up the challenge that he gave to the children of Israel?
