91. Give God The Glory

Judges 6-7

And the LORD said unto Gideon, The people that are with thee are too many for me to give the Midianites into their hands, lest Israel vaunt themselves against me, saying, Mine own hand hath saved me.   Judges 7:2

Sometimes, as God did to the children of Israel, God puts us in what seems like an impossible position. How many times do you willingly want to do what God wants you to do, but you try to do it in your own strength? When God gives you something to do, He will also direct you in how He wants you to do it. Sometimes God's instructions can seem absurd or impossible but He wants things done in such a way that it gives Him the glory rather than us taking the glory for ourselves. Our life goal should be to honor and glorify God. What is your attitude when doing something for God? Or anything really. Is it so people think that you did such a good job, or is it to honor and glorify God? God will give you the strength and ability needed to accomplish the task He has given you but then in return, you need to give him the glory.

72. God Does All Things For Our Good

Deuteronomy 5-7 O that there were such an hear in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, and it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!    Deuteronomy 5:29 And the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day.    Deuteronomy 6:24 God made it clear, and the children of Israel understood that all the commandments that God had given them were for their good and because God loved them. When there are things that God convicts you of, or rules applicable to you from His word, what is your response? Do you understand that He loves you and wants only the best for you? Or do you choose to think He doesn't know what He's doing and wants to keep you from having fun or enjoying life?
