97. Stay Loyal To God And Those Around You

Ruth 1-4

And Boaz answered and said unto her, It hath fully been shewed me, all that thou hast done unto thy mother in law since the death of thine husband: and how thou hast left thy father and thy mother, and the land of thy nativity, and art come unto a people which thou knewest not heretofore.     The LORD recompense thy work, and a full reward be given thee of the LORD God of Israel, under whose wings thou art come to trust.   Ruth 2:11-12

Ruth had gained the reputation of being loyal to her mother in law at all costs though the cost was very great. She left her family, her country, her home, just to go with her mother in law. Because of that Boaz blessed her by saying that the God who she had come to trust would reward her for her work. Are you loyal to those around you? Are you loyal to God? Would you give of yourself to bless those that God has put in your life to care for or to befriend? What are you known for? Are you loyal only when your feelings don't get hurt? Do you get easily offended and leave someone behind because they said something you didn't like or are you willing to set your pride aside and choose to love them and stick by them anyway? God will never leave or forsake you, you should be willing to do the same for those that God has given you to love. No matter what.

72. God Does All Things For Our Good

Deuteronomy 5-7 O that there were such an hear in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, and it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!    Deuteronomy 5:29 And the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day.    Deuteronomy 6:24 God made it clear, and the children of Israel understood that all the commandments that God had given them were for their good and because God loved them. When there are things that God convicts you of, or rules applicable to you from His word, what is your response? Do you understand that He loves you and wants only the best for you? Or do you choose to think He doesn't know what He's doing and wants to keep you from having fun or enjoying life?
