135. Leave Your Life In God’s Hands

2 Samuel 13-15

And the king said unto Zadok, Carry back the ark of God in to the city: if I shall find favour in the eyes of the LORD, he will bring me again, and shew me both it, and his habitation:     But if he thus say, I have no delight in thee; behold, here am I, let him do to me as seemeth good unto him.   2 Samuel 15:15-26

David and many others had to flee from the sneaky reign of Absalom. They had brought the ark of the covenant with them, most people believed that if the ark was with them, God himself was with them and they were sure to succeed. But David told them to return it to the city and that the Lord would bring him back home if it was His will. Despite what others may say, where is your trust? Do you leave your life in God's hands or do you trust your car, the person driving, whether that be yourself or someone else? If God calls you into a dangerous or scary situation, will you trust God to keep you safe and bring you home if it's His will? And will you be content with Christ and follow Him anyway if He chooses not to bring you home? God is in control. He's the only one that can allow death or life. He will always be with you come what may.
