139. Do Your Part To Heal Our Land

2 Samuel 19-21

And they answered the king, The man that consumed us, and that devised against us that we should be destroyed from remaining in any of the coasts of Israel,     Let seven men of his sons be delivered unto us, and we will hang them up unto the LORD in Gibeah of Saul, whom the LORD did choose. And the king said, I will give them.     And David went and took the bones of Saul and the bones of Jonathan his son from the men of Jabesh-gilead, which had stolen them from the street of Beth-shan, where the Philistines had hanged them, when the Philistines had slain Saul in Gilboa:     And he brought up from thence the bones of Saul and the bones of Jonathan his son; and they gathered the bones of them that were hanged.     And the ones of Saul and Jonathan his son buried they in the country of Benjamin in Zelah, in the sepulchre of Kish his father: and they performed all that the king commanded. And after that God was intreated for the land.   2 Samuel 21:5-6,12-14

What will it take for God to heal our land? There is so much corruption and so many bad choices and so much wickedness that it seems there is nothing we can do. But there are things we can do. So much happened in these verses but there were some wrongs that David had to make right before God would be intreated for their land. God tells us what we can do for Him to hear us and to heal our land. In 2 Chronicles seven it says that as children of God we have to humble ourselves, pray, seek God's face, and turn from our wicked ways before He will hear from heaven, forgive our sin, and heal our land. There is something you can do to save our nation. Are you doing your part? Do you humble yourself, pray and seek God's face like you should? Do you not only feel sorry for your sin, but turn from it as well? If the children of God would be willing to do what it takes, no matter how hard or how time consuming it is, then, and only then, can we have hope for the healing of our land.
