148. Misplaced Trust Causes Fear

Psalm 111-118

He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the LORD.     His heart is established, he shall not be afraid, until he see his desire upon his enemies.                   Psalm 112:7-8

In a world that's full of bad news and scary events, these are hard verses to apply and difficult words to honestly say about yourself. There are so many things that can cause, worry, fear, and anxiety. But those feelings are not of God. God gives us the spirit of power, love, and a sound mind, not of fear. Could it be that when you feel those feelings of fear that you have misplaced trust? If you are trusting in the Lord, these verses say that you won't be afraid of evil tidings, your heart is fixed on God and established and you won't be afraid. Any time you feel afraid, you need to stop and ask yourself what you’re trusting in and then ask God to help you trust Him more. Then you can face anything with God by your side and not be afraid!
