172. Stay Faithful In Your Love For, And Relationship With God

1 Kings 10-11, 2 Chronicles 9

And the LORD was angry with Solomon, because his heart was turned from the LORD God of Israel, which had appeared unto him twice,     And had commanded him concerning this thing, that he should not go after other gods: but he kept not that which the LORD commanded.   1 Kings 11:9-10

Nothing angers, or hurts God more, or makes him more jealous than when our heart turns from Him to other gods. Solomon married women that weren't pleasing to the Lord and they led his heart away from God and he started worshipping other gods. Because of that, all but one tribe of the kingdom would be taken from his son. God loves you so much and He created you for many reasons. But one of those reasons is to have fellowship with Him. To have a relationship with Him and to love Him. To talk to Him and be faithful in our love and devotion to Him. He longs to have a close, intimate relationship with you and He wants to be your friend. When you trust in or give your love and affection to other people or things it makes God unhappy. Will you take the time to nurture and grow your love for the Lord and your relationship with Him? Are you close enough to God that He would call you His friend?

72. God Does All Things For Our Good

Deuteronomy 5-7 O that there were such an hear in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, and it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!    Deuteronomy 5:29 And the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day.    Deuteronomy 6:24 God made it clear, and the children of Israel understood that all the commandments that God had given them were for their good and because God loved them. When there are things that God convicts you of, or rules applicable to you from His word, what is your response? Do you understand that He loves you and wants only the best for you? Or do you choose to think He doesn't know what He's doing and wants to keep you from having fun or enjoying life? True repentance?
