195. Put Your Confidence In Christ Alone

Micah 1-7

Trust ye not in a friend, put ye not confidence in a guide: keep the doors of thy mouth from her that lieth in thy bosom.     For the son dishonoureth the father, the daughter riseth up against her mother, the daughter in law against her mother in law; a man's enemies are the men of his own house.     Therefore I will look unto the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me.     Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a light unto me.     I will bear the indignation of the LORD, because I have sinned against him, until he plead my cause, and execute judgment for me: he will bring me forth to the light, and I shall behold his righteousness.   Micah 7:5-9

So many times we put our trust in people. We expect them to fulfill our needs and expect them to be our satisfaction. But that is more than any person is able to do. Do you have a misplaced trust? Because you can't expect others to satisfy the only person who can satisfy is the Lord. Do you look to your God? Do you have confidence that He will hear you? Will you wait for Him even when the waiting seems lonely? Even though others may make fun of you for having your complete trust in, and completely following Him, they will soon see that you have something that they do not. A help when you fall and a light in your darkness. These are things that the world does not get to experience. Even though when you do wrong and the Lord punishes you, will you be humble enough to admit when you’re wrong and accept the punishment? After that, He will bring you to the light and you will be able to see that He is right in all things. Where are you looking to find satisfaction? Is Christ alone where your trust and confidence lies?
