201. Ignorance Is Not Bliss

Hosea 1-7

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.   Hosea 4:6

Ignorance is not bliss. It is a choice whether you want to be or stay ignorant. God has given us His word. It's up to you to study it and to learn what it is God has written in His word and what it is He wants you to do. You can't do what God wants you to do if you don't know what it is. We choose how much we learn and know. It says that we are destroyed for lack of knowledge and if we reject the knowledge we have been given an opportunity to learn, He will reject us as well. How can you serve God if you don't know Him or how He wants you to serve Him? If you do things your own way, you could end up marring the name of Christ. Not only that but it goes one step further. If you forget and don't do what is right in God's eyes, it will have an effect on your children. Parents set the example for their children. If we don't serve God, how can we expect them to? You need to serve God and learn as much as you can about Him then follow His leading the best you can. Will you seek for knowledge and study God's word so that you will be better equipped for His service?
