202. Love As Christ Loves

Hosea 8-14

I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely: for mine anger is turned away from him.     Who is wise, and he shall understand these things? prudent, and he shall know them? for the ways of the LORD are right, and the just shall walk in them: but the transgressors shall fall therein.   Hosea 14:4,9

To be like Christ should be your goal. If you are just, you will walk in His ways for they are right. How do you compare to Christ in the way you treat others? God is just but He has great mercy and love for His people. If a perfect God can love, forgive, and heal the wrongs of imperfect people, can't you do the same? You are no better than any other person, so why do you act like it? Why do you so often focus on yourself and what others can and should be doing for you instead of focusing on others and what you can do for them? Jesus loved us so much that He went to the cross for us. He didn't go through it because He enjoyed it or because it benefited Him, but because of His love and care for us He was willing to give Himself for us and even to extend great love and mercy when we don't act as we should. Will you ask God to give you the kind of love for others that He has?
