221. All Glory To God

Jeremiah 7-9

Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches:     But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD.   Jeremiah 9:23-24

In what or whom do you glory? In your gifts or abilities? In the stuff that you have? The only things that you are to glory in according to these verses is that you understand and know the Lord and that He exercises lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth. That is what He delights in and you should acknowledge and glorify the Lord for it! Where is your love and loyalty? Will you glory in the Lord and who He is?

Deuteronomy 5-7 O that there were such an hear in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, and it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!    Deuteronomy 5:29 And the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day.    Deuteronomy 6:24 God made it clear, and the children of Israel understood that all the commandments that God had given them were for their good and because God loved them.
