222. Let The Lord Direct Your Steps

Jeremiah 10-13

O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.     O LORD, correct me, but with judgment; not in thine anger, lest thou bring me to nothing.   Jeremiah 10:23-24

It is not up to you to decide where to go with your life and what to do. Sometimes you will choose to walk your own way and plan your life the way you want to. It is then that God has to correct you and change your course. He uses His word to point out the changes that need to be made and the direction you’re supposed to go. Do you read your Bible? Do you let the Holy Spirit speak to you, and convict you when you’re wrong? Do you listen to His direction when He wants you to do something different? He is the only one that knows what's best for you. You can trust Him to guide you in the way you ought to go.

72. God Does All Things For Our Good

Deuteronomy 5-7 O that there were such an hear in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, and it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!    Deuteronomy 5:29 And the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day.    Deuteronomy 6:24 God made it clear, and the children of Israel understood that all the commandments that God had given them were for their good and because God loved them. When there are things that God convicts you of, or rules applicable to you from His word, what is your response? Do you understand that He loves you and wants only the best for you? Or do you choose to think He doesn't know what He's doing and wants to keep you from having fun or enjoying life?
