228. God’s Word Is The Only Absolute Truth

Jeremiah 32-34

And Jeremiah said, The word of the LORD came unto me, saying,     Behold, Hanameel the son of Shallum thine uncle shall come unto thee saying, But thee my field that is in Anathoth: for the right of redemption is thine to buy it.     So Hanameel mine uncle's son came to me in the court of the prison according to the word of the LORD, and said unto me, But my field, I pray thee, that is in Anathoth, which  in the country of Benjamin: for the right of inheritance is thine, and the redemption is thine; but it for thyself. Then I know that this was the word of the LORD.   Jeremiah 32:6-8

Jeremiah knew what Hanameel was saying was true and what he was supposed to do because God had previously told him it was going to happen. How are you supposed to know if what people say and do is truth? God's word. He has written everything you need to know in the Bible and you can look there for the answers you need. Do you compare everything you see and hear to the word of God? God's word is the only thing that is absolute truth and you can depend on it's contents to guide you right. Will you filter everything through God's word and follow the truth?

72. God Does All Things For Our Good

Deuteronomy 5-7 O that there were such an hear in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, and it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!    Deuteronomy 5:29 And the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day.    Deuteronomy 6:24 God made it clear, and the children of Israel understood that all the commandments that God had given them were for their good and because God loved them. When there are things that God convicts you of, or rules applicable to you from His word, what is your response? Do you understand that He loves you and wants only the best for you? Or do you choose to think He doesn't know what He's doing and wants to keep you from having fun or enjoying life? True repentance?
