230. God Alone Is Worth Serving Even If He’s All You Have

Jeremiah 38-40

For I will surely deliver thee, and thou shall not fall by the sword, but thy life shall be for a prey unto thee: because thou hast put thy trust in me, saith the LORD.   Jeremiah 39:18

If all you were promised in exchange for your lifelong service to God was your life, would you still serve Him? Would you give Him your all? Would you surrender your life and do as God asks even though you would lose everything and would see no fruit? Would you remain faithful to the Lord? That's all Jeremiah was promised and He continued to do what God asked him to. You need to count your blessings and be grateful for the Lord's goodness. Christ should be your satisfaction, not what you can get from serving Him.
