231. Have A Teachable Spirit

2 Kings 24-25, 2 Chronicles 36

And the LORD God of their fathers sent to them by his messengers, rising up betimes, and sending; because he had compassion on his people, and on his dwelling place:      But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and misused his prophets, until the wrath of the LORD arose against his people, till there was no remedy.   2 Chronicles 36:15-16

God's mercy and longsuffering reach far beyond human standards. What do you do with God's goodness? When God uses others to point out the flaws in you, how do you treat them? Do you, like the children of Israel mock and despise them not giving heed to their words but making them feel ashamed for trying to help? Or do you receive instruction and correction with a humble, grateful spirit? If you mistreat those that God chooses to use in your life, you will have to answer to God for that. You will have more friends and a better life if you choose to accept instruction and change your ways.
