245. God Is Looking For Someone To Stand In The Gap

Ezekiel 21-22

Her priests have violated my law, and have profaned mine holy things: they have put no difference between the holy and profane, neither have they shewed difference between the unclean and the clean, and have hid their eyes from my sabbaths, and I am profaned among them.     Her princes in the midst thereof are like wolves ravening the prey, to shed blood, and to destroy souls, to get dishonest gain.     And her prophets have daubed them with untempered morter, seeing vanity, and divining lies unto them, saying, Thus saith the Lord GOD, when the LORD hath not spoken.     The people of the land have used oppression, and exercised robbery, and have vexed the poor and needy: yea, they have oppressed the stranger wrongfully.     And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.   Ezekiel 22:26-30

When there's no difference between us and the world, there's a problem. Especially when those that encourage the blur of lines, and tolerance of the world to make people happy and feel more accepted are the pastors. When they bring in worldly things and don't put an importance on the Lord's day and house just to get a few more people and increase in popularity, they profane God. They make light of Him and what He values. They say what they want and say it's from the Lord even though it isn't. The people then treat others with disrespect and oppression. Because of this, God is looking for someone to stand in the gap. To do what is right in spite of what others are doing. To put a distinction between what is holy and what is not. To show to everyone else what God wants and where His standards are. In Ezekiel, He couldn't find anyone. What about today? What about you? Do you accurately represent God? Do you exemplify holiness for all to see? Will you stand in the gap?
