246. To Serve God Completely Is To Surrender Everything

Ezekiel 23-24

Son of man, behold, I take away from thee the desire of thine eyes with a stroke: yet neither shalt thou mourn nor weep, neither shall thy tears run down.     Forbear to cry, make no mourning for the dead, bind the tire of thine head upon thee, and put on thy shoes upon thy feet, and cover not thy lips, and eat not the bread of men.     So I spake unto the people in the morning: and at even my wife died; and I did in the morning as I was commanded.   Ezekiel 24:16-18

God had Ezekiel go through the worst trial of His life, only to tell him that he can't take the time to mourn or process his wife's death. Instead, he was to continue to speak to the people and to use what had just happened to him as an analogy of what the people had done about their sin toward God. If God wanted to use you to get His point across to others, even if it means losing what you most hold dear, would you continue to serve Him? Would you allow God to have control of anything and everything so He can use you to further the gospel and bring people back to Him? How much are you willing to surrender to God to use however He wills?
