263. Only God Can Rebuke Satan

Zechariah 1-3

And he shewed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him.     And the LORD said unto Satan, The LORD rebuke thee, O Satan; even the LORD that hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee: is not this a brand plucked out of the fire?   Zechariah 3:1-2

Satan will try to oppose us. He does everything he can to distract and derail those that follow Christ. Where most people get it wrong is they think that we should be rebuking Satan and telling him to get out of our life. While we are to resist the devil and he will flee from us, it is only the Lord that is shown throughout scripture that actually verbally rebukes Satan. It is only God that is more powerful than Satan. We can have victory over the temptations he brings our way and we can in Christ's strength resist him, but we are not more powerful than he is. Will you focus on Christ and doing what He wants you to do? Will you leave the rebuking and binding of Satan to God? If you are doing what's right and resisting what's wrong, Satan will flee and God will take care of Him.

72. God Does All Things For Our Good

Deuteronomy 5-7 O that there were such an hear in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, and it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!    Deuteronomy 5:29 And the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day.    Deuteronomy 6:24 God made it clear, and the children of Israel understood that all the commandments that God had given them were for their good and because God loved them.
