264. God Cares About The Way We Treat Others

Zechariah 5-9

These are things that ye shall do; Speak ye every man the truth to his neighbor; execute the judgment of truth and peace in your gates:     And let none of you imagine evil in your hearts against his neighbor; and love no false oath: for all these are things that I hate, saith the LORD.   Zechariah 8:16-17

How easy it is to gossip. Thinking bad thoughts are even easier. That's why God says not to do those things but rather to speak truth and not make any false promises. And throughout scripture, we are told to love our neighbor. How are your thoughts and actions towards others? Do you follow the thought patterns listed in Philippians 4:8? When bad thoughts try and push their way in, do you resist them and fill your mind with the word of God instead? God hates it when we mistreat each other. Will you take the time to be kind to people and surrender the reactions of your flesh to the Lord?

Deuteronomy 5-7 O that there were such an hear in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, and it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!    Deuteronomy 5:29 And the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day.    Deuteronomy 6:24 God made it clear, and the children of Israel understood that all the commandments that God had given them were for their good and because God loved them. When there are things that God convicts you of, or rules applicable to you from His word, what is your response? Do you understand that He loves you and wants only the best for you?
