270. Make God’s Work A Priority

Nehemiah 6-7

And I sent messengers unto them, saying, I am doing a great work, so that I cannot come down: why should the work cease, whilst I leave it, and come down to you?   Nehemiah 6:3

What work is it that God has given you to do? Do you give yourself fully to it? Even when you'd rather do something fun, do you choose to opt out if it gets in the way of what God wants you to do? Or make sure your responsibilities are covered by someone else so it doesn't get left undone while you’re gone? Any work that God gives you to do is a great work. No matter how small you think it is. Will you make God's work a priority in your life?

72. God Does All Things For Our Good

Deuteronomy 5-7 O that there were such an hear in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, and it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!    Deuteronomy 5:29 And the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day.    Deuteronomy 6:24 God made it clear, and the children of Israel understood that all the commandments that God had given them were for their good and because God loved them. When there are things that God convicts you of, or rules applicable to you from His word, what is your response? Do you understand that He loves you and wants only the best for you? Or do you choose to think He doesn't know what He's doing and wants to keep you from having fun or enjoying life?
