273. Wholly Know The Word Of God

Malachi 1-4

For the priest's lips should keep knowledge, and they should seek the law at his mouth: for he is the messenger of the LORD of hosts.     But ye are departed out of the way; ye have caused many to stumble at the law; ye have corrupted the covenant of Levi, saith the LORD of hosts.     Therefore have I also made you contemptible and base before all the people, according as ye have not kept my ways, but have been partial in the law.   Malachi 2:7-9

These verses were talking about the error of the priests. While you may not be a priest in the sense that is normally thought, the Bible does say that His children are kings and priests of God. You have a responsibility to know the word of God fully and not to be partial. To set an example to those around you of how to follow God's word. Do you know the word of God well enough that others can seek help and wisdom from you? Do you take the time to learn, study, read, memorize, etc. your Bible? You won't be able to help others with the truth if you don't know and follow it yourself.

72. God Does All Things For Our Good

Deuteronomy 5-7 O that there were such an hear in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, and it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!    Deuteronomy 5:29 And the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day.    Deuteronomy 6:24 God made it clear, and the children of Israel understood that all the commandments that God had given them were for their good and because God loved them. When there are things that God convicts you of, or rules applicable to you from His word, what is your response? Do you understand that He loves you and wants only the best for you? Or do you choose to think He doesn't know what He's doing and wants to keep you from having fun or enjoying life?
