285. Rely On The Spirit To Reveal God’s Word To You

Matthew 11

At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.   Matthew 11:25

When you’re proud and think that you’re smart enough to understand the things of God, you won't be able to. It is when you are humble and approach the word of God with a childlike faith and lean on the understanding of the Holy Spirit that you can understand it. It's the Holy Spirit that reveals God's word to you, not any intelligence that you may have. You need to trust in the Lord with all your heart and not on your own understanding. It is then that God can reveal His word to you as you read and study it.

72. God Does All Things For Our Good

Deuteronomy 5-7 O that there were such an hear in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, and it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!    Deuteronomy 5:29 And the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day.    Deuteronomy 6:24 God made it clear, and the children of Israel understood that all the commandments that God had given them were for their good and because God loved them. When there are things that God convicts you of, or rules applicable to you from His word, what is your response? Do you understand that He loves you and wants only the best for you?
