288. Be Not Afraid, But Have Faith

Mark 4-5

And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.     And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?     And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was  great calm.     And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?   Mark 4:37-40

Sometimes life gets crazy. Even if it's not necessarily a trial or a difficult time, a lot can be going on at one time and it seems like life can be overwhelming. When life is crazy, it's easy to become fearful and to lose faith that God is working. It seems that He's asleep in our storm. God isn't worried about it because He knows that He has everything under control. Why is it then that you become afraid and mistrusting of God's control in your life? Even when life is crazy, God has everything under control and He can give you peace in the midst of the storm. Will you choose to have faith and trust Him?

72. God Does All Things For Our Good

Deuteronomy 5-7 O that there were such an hear in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, and it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!    Deuteronomy 5:29 And the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day.    Deuteronomy 6:24 God made it clear, and the children of Israel understood that all the commandments that God had given them were for their good and because God loved them. When there are things that God convicts you of, or rules applicable to you from His word, what is your response? Do you understand that He loves you and wants only the best for you? Or do you choose to think He doesn't know what He's doing and wants to keep you from having fun or enjoying life?
