299. With Great Freedom Comes Great Responsibility

Luke 12-13

And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.     But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.   Luke 12:47-48

What are the responsibilities God has entrusted you with? How is your faithfulness in taking care of them? For what you know, God will hold you responsible. There will be great punishment if you slack in your duties and don't obey what you've been given to do. For those things that you don't know, the punishment is still there but will be lesser. The more that God gives you to do, the more God will require of you. Are you living up to His requirements?

Deuteronomy 5-7 O that there were such an hear in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, and it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!    Deuteronomy 5:29 And the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day.    Deuteronomy 6:24 God made it clear, and the children of Israel understood that all the commandments that God had given them were for their good and because God loved them. When there are things that God convicts you of, or rules applicable to you from His word, what is your response? Do you understand that He loves you and wants only the best for you?
