309. Be Willing To Give God Everything

Matthew 23, Luke 20-21

And he looked up, and saw the rich men casting their gifts into the treasury.     And he saw also a certain poor widow casting in thither two mites.     And he said, Of a truth I say unto you, that this poor widow hath cast in more than they all:     For all these have of their abundance cast in unto the offerings of God: but she of her penury hath cast in all the living that she had.   Luke 21:1-4

It's easy to give when you have a lot to give from. When you make a large amount, it's easy to give a large amount. But what if God asks you to give everything you have? Even when you have little, will you give it to God to use as He sees fit for His glory? Anything you have belongs to God anyways. He just gives you things to be a steward over for a time. If He wants them back, will you willingly let them go?

72. God Does All Things For Our Good

Deuteronomy 5-7 O that there were such an hear in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, and it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!    Deuteronomy 5:29 And the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day.    Deuteronomy 6:24 God made it clear, and the children of Israel understood that all the commandments that God had given them were for their good and because God loved them. When there are things that God convicts you of, or rules applicable to you from His word, what is your response? Do you understand that He loves you and wants only the best for you? Or do you choose to think He doesn't know what He's doing and wants to keep you from having fun or enjoying life?
