322. Listen To, And Obey The Holy Spirit
Acts 7-8
Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join
thyself to this chariot. And Philip
ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said,
Understandest thou what thou readest?
And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired
Philip that he would come up and sit with him.
Acts 8:29-31
Because Philip was walking in the Spirit, he could hear God
speaking to him and telling him where to go and he obeyed. God used him to lead
an Ethiopian man to the Lord. What would've happened Philip had either not been
walking with God or chose to ignore the Holy Spirit's leading? Would the
Ethiopian eunuch have gotten saved? What about you? Are you walking with the
Lord to where you can hear the Holy Spirit speaking to and guiding you? If you
can hear Him, do you obey? What if someone is counting on your obedience to God
to hear the gospel? Or to get their needs met? Will you be willing to leave the
crowd in order to follow the Holy Spirit even if it's just to help one person?
