344. Be Transformed, Not Conformed

Romans 11-13

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.     And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.   Romans 12:1-2

To give all of yourself to God isn't outrageous. It says here it's your reasonable service and it is acceptable to God. In order to be able to present your body a living and holy sacrifice, you need to not be conformed by the world but transformed by the renewing of your mind. You need to be renewing your mind by reading the word of God, and following Him, and by indulging in those things that edify the Spirit. To indulge in the world's system and philosophies and what they have to offer will sear your conscience and take over your mind. If you are allowing the world to influence your mind, you won't be able to prove what is that good, acceptable, and perfect will of God. Do you want to be able to discern and to prove God's good, acceptable, and perfect will? You need to be transformed, not conformed to the world.
