349. Pursue Love And Knowing God

Colossians 1-4, Philemon 1

For I would that ye knew what great conflict I have for you, and for them at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh;     That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;     In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.   Colossians 2:1-3

For we have great joy and consolation in thy love, because the bowels of the saints are refreshed by thee, brother.   Philemon 1:7

There are things that Paul could not observe in the churches that he wrote to because he wasn't present with them. But he wished that they would love one another and know God. To love God and to love others are the greatest commandments. In Philemon, Paul commends Philemon for his love and his service to them and to the saints. Can you be commended for your love? Do you seek to knit your heart with the brethren in love and to know God and all that He has to offer, and to search for the treasures in His word? These should be greatly desired things that cause conflict within you when they are not prominent in your life. What do you want most in your life? Where is your heart at? Do you have the right love and desires?
