352. Pray And Give Thanks For Those In Authority

1 Timothy 1-6

I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;     For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.     For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God and our Saviour;     Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.     1 Timothy 2:1-4

This can easily be a controversial passage of scripture. There are so many leaders we have, especially in our government, that we disagree with. But as children of God we are to pray for and give thanks for all men. Including all that are in authority. That is how you lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. God wants all men to be saved and to know the truth so praying for those in authority is acceptable in the sight of God. There will be times that we can't change the minds of those in authority. Especially those we never will have the chance of meeting. But God can change them. Will you take the time to pray for those in authority and let God work in their lives?

72. God Does All Things For Our Good

Deuteronomy 5-7 O that there were such an hear in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, and it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!    Deuteronomy 5:29 And the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day.    Deuteronomy 6:24 God made it clear, and the children of Israel understood that all the commandments that God had given them were for their good and because God loved them.
