18. Your Choices Affect Others

Genesis 19-21 

And it came to pass, when God destroyed the cities of the plain, that God remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow, when he overthrew the cities in the which Lot dwelt. Genesis 19:29 

For the LORD had fast closed up all the wombs of the house of Abimelech, because of Sarah Abraham’s wife. Genesis 20:18 

In both of these verses, someone was affected by someone else’s actions. Lot was affected positively by Abraham’s actions and Abimelech’s household was negatively affected by Sarah’s actions. What decisions are you making and acting on? How are they affecting those around you?

72. God Does All Things For Our Good

Deuteronomy 5-7 O that there were such an hear in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, and it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!    Deuteronomy 5:29 And the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day.    Deuteronomy 6:24 God made it clear, and the children of Israel understood that all the commandments that God had given them were for their good and because God loved them. When there are things that God convicts you of, or rules applicable to you from His word, what is your response? Do you understand that He loves you and wants only the best for you? Or do you choose to think He doesn't know what He's doing and wants to keep you from having fun or enjoying life?
