29. God Always Keeps His Promises
Genesis 48-50
And he blessed Joseph, and said, God, before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac did walk, the God which fed me all my life long unto this day, The Angel which redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads; and let my name be named on them, and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac; and let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth. Genesis 48:15-16
When Israel was blessing Joseph's sons, he recounts the goodness of God and how He changed him. He refers back to the promise that he made God all those years ago when He vowed to give God a tenth of all that God gave him and make the Lord his God if God would be with him, keep him in the way that he went, give him bread to eat, and raiment to put on that he would come again to his father's house in peace. God kept His end of the deal and so did Israel. How many times do we read a promise in scripture but then doubt God's faithfulness to keep that promise or to follow through on His end of the deal of a conditional promise? When God says He will do something, you need to trust Him but, also follow through with what you are to do. God will never let you down. He will always do as He says He will do.
