49. Obedience To God Brings Life

Leviticus 16-18

Ye shall do my judgments, and keep mine ordinances, to walk therein: I am the LORD your God.     Ye shall therefore keep my statutes, and my judgments: which if a man do, he shall live in them: I am the LORD.   Leviticus 18:4-5

God gives rules and instructions for a reason. Sometimes they're easy to follow, and sometimes it seems like God is asking too much. But could God ever ask too much of you? Sometimes the things God asks us to do seem hard because it will make us different. We'll stand out or be weird. It can feel like death to our social life or friendships. Although you’re supposed to die to self so you can live for Christ. When we follow God's commands it brings us life! We live for Christ and Christ lives in us! We are spiritually alive! We have a full and satisfying life by following God and making Him our ultimate satisfaction! Will you choose to obey and to say yes to God every time He asks you to do something?

72. God Does All Things For Our Good

Deuteronomy 5-7 O that there were such an hear in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, and it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!    Deuteronomy 5:29 And the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day.    Deuteronomy 6:24 God made it clear, and the children of Israel understood that all the commandments that God had given them were for their good and because God loved them. When there are things that God convicts you of, or rules applicable to you from His word, what is your response? Do you understand that He loves you and wants only the best for you? Or do you choose to think He doesn't know what He's doing and wants to keep you from having fun or enjoying life?
