55. Bear Your Own Burdens

Numbers 3-4

And when Aaron and his sons have made an end of covering the sanctuary, and all the vessels of the sanctuary, as the camp is to set forward; after that, the sons of Kohath shall come to bear it: but they shall not touch any holy thing, lest they die. These things are the burden of the sons of Kohath in the tabernacle of the congregation.   Numbers 4:15

God gave each family of the Levites a job to do in carrying portions of the tabernacle when they moved to a different spot. The sons of Kohath were tasked with the most tedious part. They had to carry the ark and the vessels of the sanctuary with staves that they carried on their shoulders. They couldn't touch any of the holy things, or they would die. These things are described as their burden. Each one of us has a job or an area of service in our church or at least should. At times, the load might get heavy in what God asks us to do for Him. It may seem like a burden, but we are to bear our own burdens. When God, or our Pastor, or anyone in authority over you, trusts you with a responsibility or gives you something to do, do you take your responsibility and fulfill it? Or do you allow the weight of some matters to overwhelm you and drop what it is you have been given to do? God will help you carry whatever it is He has laid upon you, but you must not give up, even when it's hard.
