177. Be A Willing Offering

1 Kings 16, 2 Chronicles 17

And next him was Amasiah the son of Zichri, who willingly offered himself unto the LORD; and with him two hundred thousand mighty men of valour.   2 Chronicles 17:16

In the list of names there is one that stands out. Amasiah. It says that He willingly offered himself unto the Lord. Do you have to be twisted, forced, bribed, into serving the Lord? Do you do it because you feel guilty or pressured? To serve the Lord is a great thing but God never forces service out of us. He wants you to serve Him willingly. Do you want to serve the Lord? Will you willingly offer yourself to the Lord for Him to use as He pleases? God gave Himself for you. The least you can do is give yourself to Him.

72. God Does All Things For Our Good

Deuteronomy 5-7 O that there were such an hear in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, and it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!    Deuteronomy 5:29 And the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day.    Deuteronomy 6:24 God made it clear, and the children of Israel understood that all the commandments that God had given them were for their good and because God loved them. When there are things that God convicts you of, or rules applicable to you from His word, what is your response? Do you understand that He loves you and wants only the best for you?
