184. Be Faithful In The Small Things

2 Kings 5-8

And his servant came near, and spake unto him, and said, My father, if the prophet had bid thee do some great thing, wouldest thou not have done it? how much rather then, when he saith to thee, Wash, and be clean?   2 Kings 5:13

There are so many stories of people who have done and are doing great things for God. They are inspiring and create a desire to do great things for God in your life. But, you cannot do great things for God until you learn how to do small things for God. You cannot lead thousands of people to Christ if you do not know His word and spend time communing with Him every day. You cannot be an encouragement to others when there is sin in your life. You cannot welcome people into your home and be hospitable if you are not faithful in keeping it clean. How can you be kind when there is anger, or bitterness, or hatred in your heart? In the parable of the talents, Jesus tells those that have been faithful with the little bit that He gave them that He would make them ruler over much in His kingdom. Are you faithful with the things God has given you? Will He say "Well done thou good and faithful servant" when you see Him face to face?

72. God Does All Things For Our Good

Deuteronomy 5-7 O that there were such an hear in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, and it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!    Deuteronomy 5:29 And the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day.    Deuteronomy 6:24 God made it clear, and the children of Israel understood that all the commandments that God had given them were for their good and because God loved them. When there are things that God convicts you of, or rules applicable to you from His word, what is your response? Do you understand that He loves you and wants only the best for you?
