235. Accept Rebuke With Humility

Jeremiah 49-50

Put yourselves in array against Babylon round about: all ye that bend the bow, shoot at her, spare no arrows: for she hath sinned against the LORD.     Shout against her round about: she hath given her hand: her foundations are fallen, her walls are thrown down: for it is the vengeance of the LORD: take vengeance upon her; as she hath done, do unto her.        Jeremiah 50:14-15

God's people turned their back on God and God commanded their enemies to destroy them. What happens when you've sinned against God to the point where God calls others in your life to humble you? To be hurt by your enemies or your friends is sometimes what God has to do to bring you closer to Him. Will you accept His punishment and turn back to Him? Will you choose to accept what you deserve with humility and not take it out on those whom God chooses to use to deflate your pride? God loves you so much that He's willing to do what it takes to get your attention, even if it hurts. Will you trust His heart and stay close to Him?
