238. Allow God To Work In Whatever Way Necessary To Keep You Close To Him

Lamentations 3-5

And I said, My strength and my hope is perished from the LORD:     Remembering mine affliction and my misery, the wormwood and the gall.     My soul hath them still in remembrance, and is humbled in me.     This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.     It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.     They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.     The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.     The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.   Lamentations 3:18-25

There are times in life where it seems that one bad thing happens after another. You may ask, why does God allow this? Why is He hurting me? I'm trying my best to live for Him, why is this happening to me? Perhaps there's sin in your life, but sometimes, even when you’re living the way you should and doing everything God wants you to, he simply allows trials to refine you or to test you or just to remove all obstacles that are obstructing your path to closeness with Him. If you will take the time to look back and reflect, you will be humbled by what the Lord has allowed and see His goodness and His mercy, and His compassion was there all along. As long as you have breath, the Lord is good. Is He your portion? Do you hope in Him? Do you wait for Him and seek Him? He will be good to you if you wait and seek Him. You need to take the first step.
