244. Do What’s Right And Tell Others Of God’s Mercy
Ezekiel 18-20
But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he
hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and
right, he shall surely live, he shall not die. All his transgressions that he hath committed,
they shall not be mentioned unto him: in his righteousness that he hath done he
shall live. Have I any pleasure at
all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord GOD: and not that he should
return from his ways, and live? But
when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth
iniquity, and doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked man
doeth, shall he live? All his righteousness that he hath done shall not be
mentioned: in his trespass that he hath trespassed, and in his sin that he hath
sinned, in them shall he die. Ezekiel
18:21-24
God's mercy is great. The wicked who have sinned against God
can be forgiven if they choose to turn from it and obey the Lord. It is then
that he is declared righteous and will live. He has no pleasure that anyone
should die. Even the wicked. He is always willing to offer pardon. But, If the
righteous turn away from his righteous and decide to live in sin like the
wicked, his righteousness is no longer remembered and counts for nothing. They
will die in their sin if they don't turn from it. Will you tell others about
the hope and the forgiveness that they can have in Christ? And will you stay
faithful in doing what is right so you can be in right standing with God both
now and in eternity?
