249. Heed The Watchman’s Warning

Ezekiel 31-33

Son of man, speak to the children of thy people, and say unto them, When I bring the sword upon a land, if the people of the land take a man of their coasts, and set him for their watchman:     If when he seeth the sword come upon the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people;     Then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning; if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head.     He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took not warning; his blood shall be upon him. But he that taketh warning shall deliver his soul.   Ezekiel 33:2-5

Who is the person or people that God has set up to be a watchman in your life? When they warn you of danger in your life or on the path ahead that you’re taking, do you listen? Will you heed their warning and go the other way? When you are blind to a fault in your life, will you listen when someone tries to correct you and accept help in knowing how to fix it? God has given counsellors for your help. Will you listen to them?

72. God Does All Things For Our Good

Deuteronomy 5-7 O that there were such an hear in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, and it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!    Deuteronomy 5:29 And the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day.    Deuteronomy 6:24 God made it clear, and the children of Israel understood that all the commandments that God had given them were for their good and because God loved them. When there are things that God convicts you of, or rules applicable to you from His word, what is your response? Do you understand that He loves you and wants only the best for you? Or do you choose to think He doesn't know what He's doing and wants to keep you from having fun or enjoying life?
