275. You Must Be About Your Father’s Business

Matthew 1, Luke 2

And when they saw him, they were amazed: and his mother said unto him, Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing.     And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father's business?   Luke 2:48-49

When making a decision, big or small, who do you consult or consider when making them? When God calls you to go somewhere or do something, do you follow? Or do you weigh the pros and cons, consider the feelings of others, etc.? When you know that God has asked you to do something, it is God's will that should take precedence in your life. It's good to get advice and guidance from a few trusted counsellors, but ultimately, what God says, goes. Will you choose to follow God, even if it means enduring the words, thoughts, and actions of disapproving people?
