301. Choose Jesus, Not Just His Blessings

Luke 16-17

And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God,     And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.     And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine?     there are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger.     And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.   Luke 17:15-19

Out of the ten lepers that Jesus healed, only one came back to thank Him. And because of His faith He was given salvation as well. Often the majority are content with the miracle and the blessings that God gives. Very few are grateful and express thanks to God and come back to Him after what He has done for them. Which group are you in? Is it good enough that God spares you from bad health or any bad situation? Or do you go back to Jesus Himself and express your thanks? If it weren't for Jesus there would be no miracles. Will you choose Jesus for Jesus, and not just for His blessings?

72. God Does All Things For Our Good

Deuteronomy 5-7 O that there were such an hear in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, and it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!    Deuteronomy 5:29 And the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day.    Deuteronomy 6:24 God made it clear, and the children of Israel understood that all the commandments that God had given them were for their good and because God loved them. When there are things that God convicts you of, or rules applicable to you from His word, what is your response? Do you understand that He loves you and wants only the best for you? Or do you choose to think He doesn't know what He's doing and wants to keep you from having fun or enjoying life?
