310. Take Heed, Watch, And Pray

Mark 13

But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.     Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.     For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch.     Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning:     Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.     And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.   Mark 13:32-37

Are you watching for your Lord to come for you? Are you doing the work that God has given you to do? The Lord could come back at any time and no man knows when that day will be. Will you stay busy for the Lord and watch for Him? Will the Lord find you watching and praying, or will He find you asleep at His coming?

Deuteronomy 5-7 O that there were such an hear in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, and it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!    Deuteronomy 5:29 And the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day.    Deuteronomy 6:24 God made it clear, and the children of Israel understood that all the commandments that God had given them were for their good and because God loved them. When there are things that God convicts you of, or rules applicable to you from His word, what is your response? Do you understand that He loves you and wants only the best for you? Or do you choose to think He doesn't know what He's doing and wants to keep you from having fun or enjoying life?
